Before & After Photos

There are many different areas that CoolSculpting can be utilized to diminish fat on the body. Some of the most common treatment areas include:

  • Under the neck (double chin)
  • Abdomen
  • Upper Arms
  • Flanks
  • Axillary fat pads
  • Banana roll
  • Back/bra area
  • Inner thighs
  • Outer thighs
  • Male chest

The Science Behind CoolSculpting

Want to freeze away your fat? It’s all about the science.

Fat is very sensitive to cold temperatures. If the cells reach a specific temperature, they will die. The body will then discard the fat cells through a natural elimination process. CoolSculpting allows us to target precise areas of the body where unwanted fat resides and cool the cells, triggering their natural death*. The surrounding tissue, skin, and nerves will be left unharmed because they are more tolerant of different levels of temperature. This is a process known as Cryolipolysis, which results in the fat cells becoming frozen or crystallized, and physically dying.

During the months following your treatment, the fat cells will continue to shrink and die*. Your body will then naturally metabolize them and rid them of the body, leaving a smoother, more sculpted you*. Unlike with diet and exercise where the fat cells are only shrinking, Coolsculpting destroys and discards the cells.

On average, with each treatment, the fat cells will reduce by about 20-25% within a span of two to four months*. Depending on the extent of your case, Dr. Eagan may recommend receiving several treatments to obtain your ideal outcome.

CoolSculpting Vs. Traditional Liposuction

CoolSculpting and traditional liposuction are two common forms of fat reduction. However, they achieve results in different ways. Liposuction is a surgical procedure that suctions fat out of the body at the very time of the surgery. Although effective, this method requires anesthesia, incisions, lengthy recovery time, and scarring. With liposuction, you will be required to take time off from work or your daily routines during the recovery stage.

CoolSculpting, in comparison, requires no surgery; therefore, there is no necessary downtime*. You will be able to receive treatment and go about your day as planned.

With CoolSculpting though, results are not apparent immediately after treatment, unlike surgical liposuction. The results will become apparent within the following months, giving the body time to discard any dead fat cells and allow the skin to retract and form to the body’s new contour*. Another benefit of CoolSculpting is the cost in comparison to that of surgical liposuction procedures.

You can still receive amazing results without breaking the bank*. What more could you ask for?

Ideal Candidates

Just about anyone can be a candidate for CoolSculpting treatments. Ideal candidates for this treatment are men and women who are looking to reduce mild to moderate amounts of fat on the body. Because CoolSculpting is designed to treat smaller pockets of fat, it is best that you are at or near your goal weight. We want to remind you that this treatment is not a substitute for weight loss and the reduction of fat on the body will not necessarily mean it will lower the number on the scale.

To receive this treatment, you should have areas of pinchable fat or distinct regions of bulges on the body. Overall, it is essential that you live a healthy lifestyle and have no underlying conditions that pose any risks to your results. It should be noted that this treatment does not correct skin laxity; therefore, if you have excess skin throughout the treatment area, you may require an additional procedure to resolve this concern.

To find out if you are a good candidate for this one-of-a-kind fat reducing treatment, we encourage you to contact our office to request a consultation. Dr. Eagan will be able to determine the best course of action to provide you with your desired results.

The CoolSculpting Treatment

During the treatment, you will be able to sit back and relax!

A specially designed frame and applicator will be applied to the desired treatment area. Through this, a vacuum-like suction will pull the underlying fat closer into the applicator to more efficiently target the fatty cell*. With advanced CoolSculpting technology, there are multiple types of applicators to treat various regions of the body ranging in size and shape. The type of applicator that is used during your procedure will be determined during the initial consultation with Dr. Eagan.

As the suction draws the tissue closer between the two cooling pads, it will slowly begin to freeze the cells, in turn, causing the natural death of the fat. The procedure itself lasts about 30-45 minutes from beginning to end. You will be able to leave our office immediately following your treatment and return to your daily routine*.

Results

Because CoolSculpting is not a surgical procedure or use anesthesia, there is no downtime necessary*. You may feel that the treated areas remain numb following the treatment; however, this sensation will subside within a few days. Over the next two to four months, your results will continue to improve, shedding the unwanted fat and unveiling a beautifully contoured figure*. The effects of this treatment can be long-lasting, so long as you maintain a healthy diet and stay active*.

If you are interested in a second or third treatment, we recommend waiting at least eight weeks before scheduling another appointment. However, everyone’s bodies are different, and each shed fat at different speeds and velocities. Dr. Eagan can assess the rate at which your body is ridding itself of the fatty cells to recommend the best time to receive further CoolSculpting sessions.
